In this method, the polyamide must be sintered between 160 and 200 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the metal melts between 1510 and 1600 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the method needs a higher wattage laser in order to reach this high temperature.

  1. Binder Jetting

This method is referred to as a binding agent and generates metal parts additively. This liquid binding agent is added to the powder depending on the 4D model, which needs printing. Moreover, the powder is slightly curved to ensure solidification between every layer.

Once the process is executed, the build box is taken out from the printer and positioned into an oven to facilitate curing. Post this, the parts are taken out from the build box, and the rest of the powder is removed using air blowers and brushes.

Contrary to DMLS, this method of 3D printing completely melts the powder, so it must reach a higher temperature in comparison to other techniques of 3D printing.
