The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Mr. Aonuma Gameplay Demonstration (Video)

Nintendo showed off new footage from Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom today. And it was amazing! Check out the video and then let’s talk about it.

New footage of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was shown off today by Mr. Aonuma. And it looks amazing! What did they show?

First of all, Mr. Aonuma started out playing the game on the ground. It looked like Breath of the Wild expect better. Then he used a new ability: the Recall ability to make a rock that fell from the sky go backwards in time back into the sky. I loved this. But it was only the time of the iceberg.

Mr. Aonuma also showed off an ability called Fuse. With Fuse, you could fuse a branch with a rock to make a new weapon and combine a frozen object with an arrow to get the ice arrow or fuse an eyeball with an arrow to get a tracking arrow. But fusion went beyond just weapons!

With a fusion ability called Ultrahand, you could fuse objects like wood and a wind device to create a boat. Other car-like objects and even a balloon for the sky is possible. Basically if you can figure out how to fuse it together, you can create it. Crafting in Tears of the Kingdom is next level good!

And finally a new ability called Ascend was shown off. This had been teased before. With Ascend, Link can go through ceilings! This will help to get up to high places without having to climb them. Pretty amazing.

All of the new abilities look great. It was teased that there are more things to see in the game but hey, Anonuma only had ten minutes to show off the game. It was pretty amazing what he showed.

Oh and also the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED was teased at the end of the video too! It looked fantastic! Its coming out on April 28th.

Okay, you’ll have to excuse me. I want to go watch the footage again! Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes out on May 12th, 2023.
