E3 2020 has been Cancelled

There will be no E3 2020 convention this year. We have more details below.

E3 2020 has officially been cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns. It sounds like there may be an online streaming E3 event of some kind but details are sketchy at the moment.

Xbox has said that they will have a digital event. We are waiting to hear what Sony and Nintendo will do.

Nintendo does do a lot of Nintendo Directs so it should be easy for them to do one of them at E3 time. Maybe they’ll do a Treehouse Live at Nintendo HQ too? We’ll have to wait and see.

Personally, I’m disappointed by E3 2020 being cancelled. Yes, I understand why. It is likely the right decision too. But I look forward to E3 every year. I’m sure the digital events that Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox do will be good but it won’t be the same…

One has to wonder how this will effect E3 2021. As of now, there will be an E3 next year. We’ll have to wait and see if companies go back or if they find these digital events easier and better.

What do you think of E3 2020 being cancelled?
