Brok the InvestiGator is a mostly 2D sidescrolling adventure/beat ’em up game staring a talking animated Alligator who is an investigator. This game is set within its own world full of talking animals who live and work in cities, slums, and places of their own.

Brok is the main character and he sets out to help people whenever he can. The game’s story is pretty good and the dialogue, especially, is well written and often funny. Brok has the wit of old fashioned 40’s gumshoes.

The gameplay is split between adventure, point and click gameplay and 2D beat ’em up. There’s even a button to seamlessly switch between investigating in adventure mode and throwing punches in beat ’em up mode. Both of the sides of the game work very well. Some of the adventure puzzles are pretty tough, but if you look around a bit, you can find clues that’ll help crack the puzzles.

The most impressive thing about Brok the InvestiGator though is its graphics. Brok has a very nice animated style for its characters and scenery. As mentioned before, the game is mostly 2D but there are some areas where you can walk around a little in 3D. There is a pretty neat world map too!

Overall, Brok the InvestiGator is a fun, sometimes challenging game. The game’s puzzles can sometimes be real head scratches and the beat ’em up battles can be tough too. You can lower the difficulty of the game, but still might find a challenge. If you like old school adventure and beat ’em up games though, you’ll likely love this game. Brok the InvestiGator is a very unique, fun game.

Brok the InvestiGator gets a 8.0 out of 10.
