More Thoughts From Me #258: An Immortal Demo

I’ve been wanting to play Immortals Fenyx Rising for awhile now. When I saw the first footage of it, I was blown away. The more I saw of this game, the cooler it looked. I just hadn’t had the chance to buy the game. I still haven’t. Thankfully Ubisoft released a demo of the game last week and I got to check it out!

WOW.

The Immortals Fenyx Rising demo is so good. Its just so good.

First of all, you need to play this demo on TV. The game looks okay in portable mode, I do like playing it in portable some, but on an HD television set the game looks absolutely stunning. Everything from the characters to the island you explore is breathtaking.

The island in the demo is fairly big. I’m sure its not as big as the area in the full game but there is a lot to do and much to discover in the demo. In my first playthrough, I beat the demo without seeing everything.

I think in my second playthrough I discovered everything. I’m still not sure if there might be some things to find or not though. There are so many treasure chests, puzzles, hidden rooms/areas, and other things to find. I love the wings and how you can glide around the island.

The exploration in the demo is so neat and if its that good or better in the full game, than that would be amazing.

And then there’s combat. Oh the combat in Immortals is just great. Its fast and very satisfying. I like how easy it is to switch between your axe, sword, bow, and hammer. You also have quick access to healing and stamina potions/herbs. As much fun as it is to explore in this game, its also really fun to get into battles.

The demo has a nice sidequest story too. I like how the Gods narrate it and joke/bicker. The Immortals demo has a wonderful sense of humor.

I liked everything about the demo. It absolutely made me want to play the full game this very moment. I can’t get my hands on the game yet but I hope I’ll be able to get it sooner or later. This is game I really want to play.
