What Happens When You 100% a Pokedex Entry? – Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Filling out the Pokedex is one of the main things you will do in any mainline Pokémon game, but things are different this time around, in a way. Your Pokedex is no longer a high tech piece of equipment, but is rather just a notebook and a pencil. And based on when this game is set – centuries before the events of Pokémon Pearl and Pokémon Diamond – I suppose this makes sense. This is the first time a complete record of Pokémon has been made!

Typical Pokémon games have always had two main things for you to look at in the Pokedex, the number of monsters you have seen and the number you have caught. Pokémon Legends: Arceus uses three different categorizations, including Pokémon seen, Pokémon caught, and entries completed. Completing an entry is done by doing a number of different things, whether catching a specific number of a certain Pokémon, seeing that Pokémon use a specific move, or even how many you defeat. One you’ve earned 10 points on any given entry page, you will have completed that entry in the Pokedex.

So what happens if you complete all the challenges listed for one Pokémon? Nintendo doesn’t really have a great history of providing great rewards for doing something that takes a long time. I’ve been playing for a few hours now, and have only managed to compete the entry for Starly. What did I get for my troubles? Not a whole lot, sadly. Your Pokedex entry will have little stars on it, indicating you have done all the challenges. That’s about it – no rewards, no “kudos to you.” Nothing.

I’m still waiting to see what happens when you complete the Pokedex completely! I’m hoping something really cool is going to happen because to do it would likely take hundreds of hours to complete. That will take some work!
