Halo 3: ODST will be coming to the Master Chief Collection, Bonnie Ross has revealed.

The campaign, which was originally released in 2009, will be available for free for anybody who has played the game between release and December 19. Anybody else – including people who get the console and game for Christmas – will have to pay, although it’s too early in development to get specifics on price and release.

ODST will be playable in 1080p and at 60FPS.

From Xbox.com:

Development has just started on the campaign for Halo 3: ODST, which will be available within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and upgraded to 1080p resolution, running at 60fps. It will be available for free to anyone who has played Halo: The Master Chief Collection since launch (11.11.14) through today (12.19.14).* Thanks to our friends at Bungie for creating the original “Halo 3: ODST” campaign.

People who have played the Master Chief Collection during its buggier period will also get a month of Gold, an in-game nameplate and an in-game avatar.
