Sony Confirms Prices of PSN Digital Launch Titles

Looking to spend some digital cash tomorrow, but want to make sure you’re not getting entirely ripped off? Earlier this week, there were reports of high pricing on the PlayStation Store and… there still is. But it’s come down to match retail stores (which is to be expected) and now shouldn’t be too rough on those virtual wallets.

Interestingly enough, UK boss Fergal Gara actually went as far as to confirm why it is digital prices are so high, something other Sony reps have only skirted around in the past.

[W]e want to support a healthy retail channel, so it’s not in our interest to go and seriously undermine retail.

Let’s not forget the UK is probably the most competitive retail space there is in the world. So when it comes to any recommended retail prices they will frequently choose to price significantly below them.
