Ground Zeroes Releasing Spring 2014

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in Spring 2014, and will be available to purchase from £19.99.

Konami have today finally unveiled details on the distinction between Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain. Ground Zeroes will release early next year (£19.99 digital on PS3 and Xbox 360, £29.99 digital on next-gen consoles and at retail) and will be the first playable glimpse of the next Metal Gear and the first built in the Fox engine. Ground Zeroes will show off dynamic times, open world exploration and missions, given a real hint towards what we might expect when Phantom Pain is released, probably in 2015 (if rumours are to be believed).

From the press release:

Explaining the relationship between the two titles, Hideo Kojima – Creator of the METAL GEAR SOLID series and Head of Kojima Productions – commented: “The advanced capabilities of the FOX Engine have allowed me to tell the new story in a new way. There will be a significant difference in what METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN brings to the series, so we want to ease players into the new open world environment and its potential. As such, METAL GEAR SOLID: GROUND ZEROES has been designed to introduce key elements, allowing them to fully benefit from all that the new game will offer.”

More details will no doubt be released closer to Q2 next year, including a slightly more concrete release date.
