Child of Light “Only the Tip” of Journey through Lemuria, Sequel Possible

Child of Light was absolutely gorgeous, an RPG that so nicely integrated “indie” stylisation to create an adventure that was both memorable and beautiful. There’s good news for those that finished its rather short journey and are hungry for more: there’s plenty of potential for the future of Lemuria.

In an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit, Child of Light’s writer Jeffrey Yohalem confirmed that Child of Light was just the beginning and, hopefully, there’ll be further games set in the world.

…we definitely want to continue the journey through Lemuria. Child of Light is only the tip of the iceberg.

If that’s a little too vague, someone out and out asked if a sequel was going to happen. Yohalem didn’t mince words:

Hope so!

Where would the franchise go from here? With one adventure done, it’d be interesting to see something darker, especially since one of the few complaints people had was that there wasn’t much meat to the characters. Something beyond the fairy tale would be a nice thing to see, especially with increased budget after Child of Light turned out to be such a hit.

One things for certain though: Ubisoft have done well to let a studio run with their own ideas. Sequel or not, hopefully that’s something they allow again in the future.
