Watch Dogs Wii U Delayed

After weeks of rumours about cancellations, Ubisoft have today confirmed that Watch Dogs Wii U is still on its way – although it won’t be available until well after the other versions are released. In short: it’ll be available after everybody who wants Watch Dogs already has had the chance to buy it.

In a statement to Video Gamer today, Ubisoft confirmed its decision.

We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team’s resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft.

Ubisoft’s initial support for Nintendo’s latest quickly waned after ZombiU failed to capture the general public’s attention. Rayman was originally going to be exclusive and was delayed after the game went gold. This seems like the latest show of the company’s changing attitude to Nintendo, and popular opinion is Watch Dogs Wii U might not make it to release at all. Let people get annoyed about the delay, then just never actually release it. Considering they haven’t given out a new release date, it’s a little suspicious, but nothing concrete has been confirmed.

Other versions of Watch Dogs are unaffected by the delay, and if anything might even be improved as a result.
