Sony have today announced that they are ditching their Music Unlimited service and swapping it out for a version of Spotify.

Called PlayStation Music, the Spotify app will enable you to access millions of songs by hundreds of thousands of artists, both in game and out.

While detail on how exactly that was going to work  hasn’t yet been given, but they did say there would be exclusive features available only through the PlayStation Music app.

It will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xperia smartphones and tablets.

Music Unlimited will close on March 29. PlayStation Music will launch some time afterwards, and will be available in 41 countries worldwide. Those with active Spotify subscriptions will be able to use their membership in PlayStation Music.
