Left 4 Dead Devs Announce Evolve

evolve-cover_690x407

There really aren’t enough co-op multiplayer games around, to the point where Left 4 Dead manages to stand out basically unchallenged. They’re fantastic games in their own right, especially if you have people to enjoy them with, but ultimately there isn’t much competition. That’s going to change soon, when Evolve is released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year.

Evolve has you fighting off leagues of aliens as you and your friends explore various sci-fi locations. To add another twist though, Evolve also has a player controlling the main bad guy, an Alien that gets progressively bigger as the match continues. Even though there are more players on the “good” side, the arsenal available to the Alien side means it’ll be a challenging fight.

Evolve is being developed by Turtle Rock Studios, the team that built Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. That means they know what they’re doing when it comes to co-op games, and Evolve is bound to be an exciting addition to the next-gen roster come Christmas. Originally to be published by THQ, it was sold to 2K Games when THQ went down last year.

Evolve will be available to purchase across next-gen systems and PC in Autumn this year. For more details, and a hand-on preview, check out the current issue of Gameinformer.
