Masahiro Sakuarai has taken to the Miiverse to announce a brand new stage for Super Smash Brothers, due out for Wii U and 3DS next year. Based on the most critically acclaimed game of all time, Mario Galaxy, this new stage will boast a slightly change in physics designed to make you play in a different way.

From the Miiverse:

Pic of the day. A new stage, Mario Galaxy!! The pull of gravity emanates from the center of the planet, so this will require using brand-new tactics.

That means that jumping is going to become slightly more limited and that, without the jagged edges and sudden drops that usually make up a Smash Bros stage, you’re going to need to hit up to get rid of your opponents. That’s almost definitely going to shake up the way some people play, and this may become the perfect stage to fight those characters that justĀ always seem to make it back up to the platform.

This is just one of quite a few new stages that’ll be in at least one of the new versions of Super Smash Bros, although some of the others have played it a little safer in terms of design.
