2018 Ubisoft Holiday Gift Guide

Ubisoft released a number of fantastic games in 2018, and any one of them would make a fantastic gift under the tree for that special someone in your life…may be yourself! It’s not often a single studio can have multiple home run hits in a year, but somehow Ubisoft managed with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, and their newest IP, Starlink: Battle for Atlas. We had the opportunity to review and play them all this year, and it was fantastic! Check them out below – including links to our reviews – and be sure to pick them up this holiday season!

Starlink: Battle for Atlas

We played Starlink on the Nintendo Switch, but according to other Canadian media outlets, the game played great no matter what system you played it on. For those looking for a bit of extra content, the Nintendo Switch version is the one you want, with a whole other quest line dedicated to the popular Nintendo character Fox!

Despite being a brand new IP, and with toys-to-life franchises taking serious nosedives over the past few years, Ubisoft has released something that is truly different, as the toys in this game can actually be played with outside of the game, unlike Skylanders or Disney Infinity characters. If you have a toys-to-life fan in your family, don’t look past this fantastic release!

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

When Assassin’s Creed Origins launched last year, I was one of the few that said it would be hard for Ubisoft to “do better than this.” Well I was incredibly wrong, because Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is better than Origins in almost every single way, which is saying a lot because I still feel Origins is a solid 9.0/10 experience!

Travel around ancient Greece this holiday season as mercenary out for vengeance and answers, after the supposed death of his family. Play through one of 2018’s best RPG experiences and enjoy a fantastic story while you are at it. Fight for Sparta or Athens – sometimes depending on who is offering you more – and explore the vast world Ubisoft has created!

Far Cry 5

Ever wonder what part of the United States would look like if a cult took over? Well now you can experience that reality by venturing into Hope County, Montana, and working to take down ‘The Father.’

There is so much to do in Hope County that this game could take you dozens of hours to complete. With a variety of biomes to explore, dozens of weapons to master, and many friends and animals to take with you on your trip, there is so much here! Be sure to check it out this holiday season!
