New Pokémon Details from Nintendo Direct

If you didn’t get to see the Nintendo Direct from yesterday, do yourself a favour and hop over to the Nintendo YouTube page and watch it, or see the video below. One of the coolest announcements during that direct was the unveiling of a brand new, Pokeball designed New Nintendo 2DS XL. On top of that, new details were provided for the upcoming Pokémon titles heading to the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

From The Pokémon Company PR:

During the presentation, it was revealed that the mysterious Pokémon shown on the packages of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are in fact Necrozma. After taking over the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo in Pokémon Ultra Sun or the Legendary Pokémon Lunala in Pokémon Ultra Moon, Necrozma becomes Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma! Dusk Mane Necrozma can use Solgaleo’s signature move Sunsteel Strike and Dawn Wings Necrozma can use Lunala’s signature move Moongeist Beam. Alongside these new forms of Necrozma, two new Ultra Beasts, UB Assembly and UB Burst, were also shown. Details about these mysterious beings will be unveiled later.

Those that preorder or purchase Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will receive an in-game gift Pokémon Rockruff, who is guaranteed to evolve into the new Pokémon, Dusk Form Lycanroc. This new Pokémon will have distinct moves based on the game copy you choose to purchase, so don’t expect an Ultra Sun version of Dusk Form Lycanroc to be the same as in Ultra Moon!

Nintendo also reminded Pokémon fans that Pokémon Silver and Gold is heading to the Nintendo 3DS family of systems via the Virtual Console, and will be available for purchase this Friday, September 22nd!
