No Man’s Sky Jumping to Xbox One; Includes New Update

No Man’s Sky is launching today on Xbox One – Friday in Europe – alongside the latest expansions, NEXT. With this update, the developers behind this troubled title are looking to right the ship, and provide an experience players thought they were getting when the game originally launched on the PS4 a few years ago. With promises of great things – and some good early impressions from those who have had the opportunity to see it, No Man’s Sky has a new lease on life, and we are really excited to try it out.

The developers released a laundry list of patches that are coming to the game at launch, many of which solve problems we had when we originally reviewed the experience on the PS4. Here is a bit from the developers:

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man’s Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, constant danger and action. In No Man’s Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you’ll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before – and perhaps never will again.

We are getting the opportunity to jump into this experience again, and cannot wait to see what is in store for us this time on the Xbox One X. Based on the patch notes published by the company, things seem to be trending in the right direction! With multiplayer added in, and some amazing base building opportunities, there seems to be more of a purpose to this experience.

Will you be giving the team behind No Man’s Sky another opportunity to wow you, or are you once burned, twice shy?
