Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire: Unleash Extreme Adventure on Your PC

Obsidian Entertainment has already rocked our world with Fallout, Dungeon Siege and Tyranny but the hot new sequel to Pillars of Eternity is about to unleash serious adventure on your PC.  The brand new RPG may not pay out wads of cash like the myriad games offered by Thunderbolt casino online but it’s rich – super rich – in terms of imagery, characters, customisation and unfettered action.

Key In-Game Strategies: Collaboration, Stealth and Diplomacy

Those of you who are already flexing your fingers in anticipation of the 8th of May 2018 release date for PC have the opportunity to get one step ahead of the game.  According to the developers, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is not so much about combat and kill rate but rather collaboration and quiet diplomacy.

In essence, the long awaited follow-on to the multi-award winning single-player is all about stealth and your relationship with an intrepid team of slick, suave and decidedly likeable high sea adventurers.  This means you have a few days in which to work on your negotiating skills so that you’re perfectly primed to take what you want – when you want it – through a more cerebral strategy rather than simply relying on cut, thrust and plunder!

The Revenge of The Watcher

The game opens with terrifying scenes of Eothas, the gigantic god of light and rebirth as he crushes all that stands in his path.  One of his casualties is The Watcher, the player character from the 2015 showstopper who languishes near death in the ruins of his stronghold.  In Pillars of Eternity II, The Watcher – with you firmly in control – has the opportunity to avenge the deaths and destruction wrought by the unforgiving and all-powerful god… and capture a few ships laden with luscious loot on the side.

Deadfire Archipelago: A Spectacular Open World

This time the bulk of the action takes place on the high seas and the remote islands of the Deadfire Archipelago in the world of Eora.  You’ll have the opportunity to explore a spectacular open world featuring immersive dynamic weather, fast-flowing rivers, lush island scenes and vast seascapes, all of which are viewed from an isometric perspective.

Customisable Sidekicks for True Blue Adventures on the High Seas

Helping you along in your pursuit of Eothas are four able bodied sidekicks who are not so much pirates but gentile buccaneers with a penchant for the good things in life.  As the characters are all fully customisable, you have the creative freedom to construct a formidable gang of sea bandits who have the skill sets, weaponry and pure nous to capture countless sea craft at will.

Your choice of fellow combatants is crucial to your progress in the game.  In Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire you have 11 possible character classes to delve your way through in order to generate a real blinder of a team of misfits.  You can create a warrior, wizard, rogue and hero who are more than capable of running rings around the in-game antagonists.

Unpredictable World with Legions of Deadly Enemies

A word of warning for the uninitiated of the best video games ever produced; Eora may appear tame and welcoming but in reality, it is a massive unpredictable world populated by legions of deadly enemies, many of whom are not only strong and dangerous but incredibly wily too.  When you do come across a nefarious sea captain with a ship listing with treasure, your chosen course of action is key.

Be Sure to Choose Your Options Carefully

What, you may ask, are your options?  They are published in a storybook style loading screen for all to see… and for you to consider seriously.  The first is to raise the neutral flag and come alongside with a grin on your face and a warm welcome in your demeanour.  The second is to wait patiently for nightfall and stealthily sneak onboard for a surprise invasion and the third and final option is to go all out with a full frontal assault!

Slick and Polished Fight Scenes May Prompt You Off-Course

Although the third selection is not heartily recommended – due to the apparent in-game failure rate – the fight scenes are slick, polished and supremely entertaining and speak to the action genre that Pillars of Eternity I and II so obviously aspire to.

According to those in the know, the sneaky diplomatic approach pays off big time.  So… if you want to add crates of treasure to your on-board trove, make in-game friendships at the same time and earn a reputation of being firm though fair, a more furtive gaming methodology will ensure you and your team fulfil your quest in double quick time.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we applied the same calm and friendly approach to conflict resolution in the real world?

With the launch date of Pillars of Eternity II just around the corner, it’s time to prepare for a sizzling sequel that has the ingredients of a great gaming opportunity… guaranteed.  Get it for your PC and be a big bold pirate for the day.
