Opinionated Logan: Disney Art Academy

My son Logan loves playing video games, and often what I get in for review are often too violent or mature rated for his age. However, generally when we get titles from Nintendo, they are things that he gets to play, and lately, we have been tapping him for his opinion. This week, Logan has been busy – or not busy as you will see – playing Disney Art Academy. His thoughts are below.

When he saw the case, the hype was unreal. He couldn’t wait to get home from school to try this out on his 3DS. Logan is a huge Disney fan; we have had the fortunate opportunity to take him to Dinsey World a few times, on a few Disney Cruises, and most Disney animated movies are day one purchases in our home. He’s infatuated with it. So, his excitement was not the least surprising.
However, I knew he was going to be in for a rude awakening. This isn’t an action game, there is nothing very ‘exciting’ about it, but none-the-less, he wanted to give it a try.
I’m not sure he made it past the first couple tutorials; boredom set in way faster than it has with any previous games. This is incredibly understandable. It’s a game tailored for a mature audience, even if it has a rating of E.
Logan loves his Nintendo titles, but not all of them. This is that rare example. Fortunately, I’m not sure Nintendo cares about a six year old’s opinion, at least not on this title. He’s not the intended audience, and that is more than OK!
