FINAL FANTASY Something for Everyone (Trailer)

Square Enix has released a new trailer showing off all the Final Fantasy games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 (also: Final Fantasy 9). Please take a look at it and then come back for my thoughts on the games.

I absolutely love this video. What a fantastic legacy of games! Most of them will be coming to the Switch and Xbox One this year. Chocobo’s Dungeon EVERY BUDDY and Crystal Chronicles will be out for the PS4 and Switch in 2019. Note: all the other Final Fantasy games are already on the PS4 and PC. No word if Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon or Crystal Chronicles will be coming to Xbox One and PC!

Of course, Final Fantasy 9 is shown off in this video too. If you haven’t already, please check out my Switch review of that game.

The next game to come out will be Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! I’m not sure what to think of this game. It does look cute, but I think its aiming for a younger audience.

And then Final Fantasy 7 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. I love this game. Its the game that got me addicted to rpgs. I can’t wait to play it again and especially on the Switch.

After that, Final Fantasy X and X-2 will be out in April. FF10 is a really great game. FF10-2 has a wonderful job system and a good battle system. I don’t like it as much as 10 but I look forward to revisiting both on the Switch.

Final Fantasy 12 is also coming out in April. I didn’t care much about this game on the Playstation 2 because the battle system was so very different.

That said, the addition of a job system, plus other new features makes FF12 sound a lot better. Plus I’ve played the Xenoblade games since playing this game originally and I think I might like FF12’s battle system more (because 12 and Xenoblades battles are similar). Oh and it would be fun to visit Ivalice again.

Finally, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles will be coming to the Switch and Playstation 4 sometime this year. It is a remake of the game that appeared on the Gamecube. I wasn’t a big fan of this one because of the multiple GBA setup and carrying around that bucket. I would be interested to see how the remake switches things up though.

Whew. What a list! And all of these Final Fantasy games are coming out this year. Which one of them are you looking forward to the most?
