Ghosts Sells More on PS4 than on Wii U

COD-Ghosts_Underwater-Ambush

The PlayStation 4 isn’t available in the UK until the end of the month, and yet more people have ordered the game for the PS4 than they have for the Wii U.

That’s not the worst of the news either. The Wii U, along with physical PC sales, accounted for only 1% of the total games sold in the UK last week. When you consider that retail PC gaming is all but dead (thanks to the likes of Steam which are booming), being part of that statistic is around the worst place Nintendo could be right now.

Why might Ghosts have sold so poorly on the Wii U? Well, despite strong support to begin with, there were certain features taken away from Black Ops II on Wii U. Then there was no DLC support and a couple of major updates never made it to the system. Mix this with very poor advertising and availability, and Ghosts might as well have been dead on arrival. Some are questioning whether this might change Activision’s attitude towards future ports.
