More Thoughts From Me #112: Ready Player One?

Most of the time I talk about video games in this column, but today I wanted to change things up a little. Ready Player One is an upcoming motion picture based on a book by Ernest Cline. I read the book and liked it a lot. I can’t wait to see the movie! Why should you care about the movie? Well…the movie (and the book) is about a video game of sorts and has a lot of video game references.…

Nindies Showcase 3.20.18

Nintendo of America had an Indie (Nindie) showcase today. You can check that video out below and then please come back for my impressions of it. Today’s Nindie Showcase was not very good. There were no major surprises like Fornite or even a release date for Wargroove. None of the previously mentioned indie games from other showcases were mentioned at all. The video was also very short. Now, I’m not saying that there were no interesting games at all in…

Sea of Thieves PSA: Don’t Be That Guy Without a Microphone, plus more!

Yesterday afternoon, Xbox Canada unlocked Sea of Thieves for reviewers, and I quickly jumped in for a few hours to see all the exciting content that wasn't public during the alpha and beta phase of the game. Right from the get-go, Rare did not disappoint, with much more content ready and waiting for me the second I walked out of the tavern and down to my ship. If you've owned an Xbox One unit for long enough, you are likely very familiar with the R.B.I. series as it has been the only MLB game available on the console for a number of years now. While the PlayStation 4 has the luxury of having MLB: The Show year in and year out, Xbox fans are left with the relatively good and addicting R.B.I. series. As an arcade baseball fan, I'm more than OK with this being the only MLB offering on the Xbox One.

Pure Farming 2018 Review in Progress

Pure Farming 2018 takes everything from previous farming simulator titles, adds a bit of its own flair, and delivers the most up-to-date, rich farming experience available on any platform right now. While it could get outpaced by the latest Farming Simulator title due out late this year or early next, Pure Farming 2018 will be, and should be, the farming game of choice for all farm simulation fans, and will likely remain so for the next 10-12 months.
