A few months ago, Ubisoft announced that it would be giving an overhaul treatment to one of the franchises more polarizing experiences, Assassin's Creed III. Set during the American Revolution, the time period was a perfect fit for the franchise, but a number of glitches and game play issues held his title back, leaving a bad taste in the mouth of many. Now, years later, we all get to enjoy a more fully featured and complete version of Assassin's Creed III, and I could not be more excited!

When Assassin’s Creed Origins launched last year it became quickly apparent that the major changes to the franchise propelled that release to my favourite Assassin’s Creed game to date, and it was a sentiment shared by many. One year later, and we have been promised another grand adventure, built on similar changes made to Origins. But with only a year between releases, does this release take a step back? Let’s dive in!

When Ubisoft first announced their brand new franchise titled The Crew, perspective fans were painted a picture of cruising across the United States, going from major city to major city, and enjoying everything in between. Console owners were promised a wide variety of cars, a great deep story, and plenty of races and events to take part in. And while Ubisoft delivered on some of those promises, what ultimately landed in the laps of gamers was a half finished racing game which attempted to shoe-horn in a story about murder.

When a franchise gets into it's 4th or 5th title, sometimes bad habits or complacency sets in and what consumers ultimately get at retail is a paired down, lackluster experience that disappoints in many ways. Although your original starting point of Siwa will be light on the restricted areas you can enter, when the large world of Assassin's Creed Origins finally does open up to you - especially in your first major city, Alexandria - you will realize that restricted zones are a dime a dozen. Enter them, and be prepared for a fight. Get spotted, and in certain situations, it is as good as a game over. There are ways to successfully enter, kill, and loot an entire location, but careful skill is needed to do this. Your weapon of choice in these situations? The Predator Bow.
