More Thoughts From Me #165: R.I.P. Toys-To-Life Genre

The Toys-to-Life Genre is dead! Long Live the Toys-To-Life Genre. LEGO Dimensions is gone, Disney Infinity is gone, Skylanders is gone, and Starlink didn’t do that well. The Toys-To-Life genre is on its way out. Is there any hope at all? What did I think of this genre? Lets take a look at Toys-to-life! I never got into the toys-to-life genre a lot. I almost didn’t get into it at all. A few years ago, LEGO Dimensions was on sale…

LEGO Dimensions: Powerpuff Girls Team Pack

I'll be the first to admit that Powerpuff Girls isn't really up my alley, but when Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment sent over the Powerpuff Girls Team Pack, I was interested enough to put it together and check it out. While I wasn't thrilled about the LEGO builds themselves, the in game content was pretty strong all around, making the Powerpuff Girls Team Pack a good addition to any LEGO Dimensions collection.

The Joys of LEGO and Video Games

Last week, Warner Bros. PR in Toronto reached out and let me know they had a number of Ninjago, LEGO Dimensions fun packs and character packs to send my way. They arrived yesterday, and my six year old son Logan lost his mind. Not only is Logan a big Ninjago fan, but he is also a big LEGO Dimensions fan. His excitement made me realize something: all of these toys-to-life games do a great job of mixing toys and video games, but none of them - Skylanders or Disney Infinity - can do it like LEGO.

As a reviewer, I technically can't have a sixty minute barometer - I must review the entire game. However, I often still use my sixty minute rule, even if I plan to play the whole game. With the release of Disney Infinity, the the almost impossible ability to adequately review everything in one 'review,' I've decided to share my thoughts ...
