The LEGO Group

It is not often that we look at one of the LEGO Ideas sets here on GamesReviews, but LEGO was nice enough to track down the Medieval Blacksmith set for us to review, and although it took a bit of time to find and get it here, it was well worth the wait. This large and detailed set from LEGO brings me back to the days of playing with my castle LEGO sets, complete with knights, peasants, and more. But with the hefty price tag, is this set worth it? Let's dive in!

When LEGO and Nintendo first announced the LEGO Super Mario line-up of building block sets, I was incredibly skeptical. Instead of traditional LEGO minifigure sized sets, LEGO opted to created more interactive experience with large, chunky character and figures to play with. And from early reviews across the board - from brick review companies to video game review companies - reviews of the toys have been surprisingly good, pushing me to buy up any stock I can! There is one problem though - I cannot find local stock.

The LEGO Group has launched the second Disney Minifigure Collection, and the characters available this time around are fantastic! Whether you like the new Duck Tales cartoon, or have an affinity for Steamboat Willie, there will be something for you to enjoy. From Jafar to Hurcules, which characters are your most excited about?

It was a pleasure to receive Rex's Rex-treme Offroader, and after putting it together, my kids had an excellent time playing with the set, and recreating their favourite moments from the film! At the New York Toy Fair, The LEGO Group released details and images of their upcoming Toy Story 4 sets that will be launching a few months ahead of the official film release in June. Coming out in April of this year, LEGO will be dropping these 4 sets and likely more around and after the launch of the film. Based on what we are seeing, these sets are not to be missed!

At roughly 59.99 USD, this set doesn't meet our 10 cents / piece threshold that deems a LEGO set a good value, but offers up enough unique pieces that make it a worthwhile purchase anyway. The LEGO formula hasn't changed a lot in recent memory and while in writing that sounds like a bad thing, in reality it's been working just fine for a number of years. Sure, small enhancements have been made in combat - changed in LEGO Ninjago Movie Game and kept for this adventure - but overall, the brick busting, stud collecting, puzzle solving characters are back, with more options than ever before. And the open world feel of The Incredibles gives me the same feelings I had when playing LEGO City Undercover, which is a huge achievements. But does it all ...

With the release of the latest Jurassic World movie, LEGO has once again partnered with the franchise to release new sets based on the movie. Thanks to our good friends at The LEGO Group, we were fortunate enough to receive Blue's Helicopter Pursuit for review. After an hour or so of putting it together, my eight year old son was really thrilled with the final product, and has been playing with it non-stop for days. Let's take a look at the build!
