Remnant: From the Ashes simultaneously feels like a brand new mix of genres and a familiar title reminiscent of gaming days gone by. By themselves, the third-person combat, dungeon-crawling looting and randomly-generated playthroughs are all very comfortable and well-used elements of action-adventure games but the manner in which Gunfire Games has combined them provides an overall experience unlike anything I have played before.
