Although Nintendo has been publishing Super Smash Bros titles since the Nintendo 64 era, I’ve never really been able to get into any of them. The reasoning for that isn’t as apparent as I would have thought either. I like the idea of Super Smash Bros. I like the characters in Super Smash Bros. And I even love the level design. When Nintendo unveiled Super Smash Bros Ultimate at E3 2018, my first reaction was, "Is this it for Smash Bros?" In a game that promises to feature all the fighters from past titles, as well as stages from past titles, should we expect this release to be the swan song for the franchise. While I feel that Super Smash Bros will continue as Nintendo launches more systems, there is plenty of evidence to say that isn't going to happen.

The rumors continue to swirl regarding the Nintendo NX, and lately these rumors have revolved around what type of launch lineup we might see. I think a fair assumption would be that we will see the new Legend of Zelda game get a release on both the Wii U and the Nintendo NX, similarly to what was done with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the GameCube and Wii. Super Smash Bros on 3DS was packed full of content, ranging from unlockable characters and stages to never-before-seen game pay modes that make playing Smash Bros alone more enjoyable. Nintendo held nothing back when releasing the Wii U version of the game, and the result is one of the best Wii U games available to date.

Super Smash Bros has been one of Nintendo's biggest franchises, and although it may not have the following that Mario Kart does, there are still millions of people around the world who long for the generational Smash Bros games. While we all anticipate the Wii U launch in November, Nintendo is treating us to the first handheld edition of the game, Super Smash Bros 3DS.

Masahiro Sakuarai has taken to the Miiverse to announce a brand new stage for Super Smash Brothers, due out for Wii U and 3DS next year. Based on the most critically acclaimed game of all time, Mario Galaxy, this new stage will boast a slightly change in physics designed to make you play in a different way.
