Despite the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, they are still the most powerful handheld gaming company on the planet, and with so many great titles released in 2017, we decided to highlight a few that you might want to purchase for that video game fan in your life. If you didn't get to see the Nintendo Direct from yesterday, do yourself a favour and hop over to the Nintendo YouTube page and watch it, or see the video below. One of the coolest announcements during that direct was the unveiling of a brand new, Pokeball designed New Nintendo 2DS XL. On top of that, new details were provided for the upcoming Pokémon titles heading to the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

Dusk Form Lycanroc is coming to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, and will be a downloadable 'freebie' for those who pick up the game between its release date on November 17, 2017 and January 10, 2018. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will extend the gameplay of the original Pokémon Sun and Pokémon moon with new exclusive Pokémon, a new story, and some new areas to explore. We are really looking forward to this holiday release, and will have a review ahead of launch up on the website.

Today was the much anticipated Pokémon Direct that was to outline games coming to the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. While there was much talk about what we would potentially see - a rerelease for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Stars on Nintendo Switch - what we got was, well, slightly disappointing for some, and pretty exciting for others!
