With the anticipation leading up to the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human this December, I had the opportunity to check out developer Techland's Dying Light Platinum Edition, which encompasses all of the DLC from the first game in one tidy package. I must admit that I somehow missed Dying Light when it was originally released in 2015. I don't know how this is possible, since I played and loved Dead Island and a plethora of other zombie survival action-thrillers in the past decade. Boy, was I missing out on one gem of a title.

For anyone who has heard any of the hype surrounding Dying Light 2 but has not had a chance to enjoy the first title, you're in luck! Now - the complete Dying Light Platinum edition is available, allowing you to experience the entirety of the first game before diving into its sequel later this year. 

Dying Light came out and focused on running, climbing, and jumping. As you traversed the cityscapes and ran away - or towards - the undead, I never felt like I was being hampered in how I traversed the city. It worked, it was fun, and that was the point. Things are changing with the latest DLC, The Following. Gone is the city, gone is the running. It's all about the open fields surrounding the urban wasteland, and the coolest addition to Dying Light yet, your buggy.

Dying Light features the main character, Kyle Crane, who is an undercover agent sent to recover data for the GRE organization and Kyle Crane quickly realizes that something is wrong and things aren’t what they seem. He decides to help a group of survivors. Chaos then ensues, as it does in all zombie games with hordes of the walking dead roaming the streets. As we follow our group of survivors we grow with them in the story and really care about their progress making the majority of the events in Dying Light deep and impacting.

A whole new chapter is set to be released with Dying Light: The Following, but also along with the new chapter we will be receiving a slew of enhancements that will be available through a free update for all players of the Techland zombie game. The new features include bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, new NPC models, 100 new animations and more will be coming along with the Dying Light: The Following release in February.
