Fifty Words by POWGI

Fifty Words by POWGI is a word search game by Lightwood Games. If you’ve read any of my previous reviews of their games, you’ll know that I’m a big fan! I especially love their word games. Sooner or later though, they have to have a bad word game right? Here’s my review of Fifty Words by POWGI!

Fifty Words by POWGI is a word search game on par or perhaps better than previous efforts by Lightwood Games. I did not catch Lightwood Games doing a bad game. Not yet at least! (I don’t know if such a thing is possible).

There are a few new things in Fifty Words though. For instance, in this game, you can customize the word highlighter to be something other than just black. It can basically be any color your want or it can be random. The word search puzzles look pretty neat this time around!

Also there is no grid in Fifty Words. What does that mean? It means that structure of each word search is different and it can be harder to find words sometimes. Not too hard! Honestly, its nice to have a bit more challenge. There’s no list of words either. You are just given a basic catogory for each word search and know that you have to find fifty words for each search! Word search fans will have a lot of fun with this one.

Best of all, in my opinion, the in-game music finally seems different. The tunes in this game are not as annoying as previous games. Still, you may find yourself turning down the music or turning it off to be able to focus more on the word search.

That all said, if you’ve played any of Lightwood Games other word search games, then you won’t find this game too different. The controls on Fifty Words are very good. Touch screen is the best, but the analog/button controls work well too. In the end, this is just a word search game and fans of the genre will love it.

Fifty Words by POWGI is a good game. I’m very happy with it. Also, I can’t wait to see what the next word game by Lightwood Games will be.

Fifty Words by POWGI gets a 8.0 out of 10.

Thank you to Lightwood Games for providing a digital code for this review. Fifty Words by POWGI is now available on the Nintendo Switch eshop.
