Funko jumping into the gaming market.

From the folks who made MILLIONS off of little plastic figures to now moguls in the gaming industry, Funko has officially jumped into the ring in hopes of making it big.

Partnering alongside 10:10 Games, The collaboration will produce a AAA Action Platformer in 2023. Led by video game developer and five-time BAFTA award winner Jon Burton, 10:10 Games has gathered some of the industry’s best creators to develop it.

They unveiled a short announcement trailer featuring company mascot Freddy Funko donning a 10:10 games t-shirt to go along with the announcement. No details other than that at this time. It makes me wonder if they are planning to leverage their licensing partners to do branded games as they did in the board game world using Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and even The Golden Girls or if they are planning something unique.
The world can’t escape Funko even if they wanted to, so I imagine they would at least have that trademark look about them. But with something launching next year they promise to provide more information soon. They did say to expect the title to carry a T for teen rating and will have major third-party studio integration so time will tell.

blank Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
