Bungie Officially Joins Sony Interactive Entertainment

After first hearing about the deal back in January, Bungie Officially joins Sony’s stable of 1st party developers.

In a twitter statement by Bungie: “We are proud to officially join the incredible team at PlayStation, we are excited for the future of our company, and we are inspired to bring together players from all over the world to form lasting friendships and memories.”

As a reminder Bungie still retains all control over publishing and creative rights over Destiny content, which should keep fans happy. Also if you follow the rumors it seems Bungie may already be working on another Destiny game. I’ve seen everything from Destiny 3, to a MP focused game. This is all speculation due to some new job postings discovered for Bungie. But as always time will tell, and they will let us know what’s next when they are ready.

I for one am very excited about what this relationship could mean in the long run. Personally I wouldn’t mind if they got to take a crack at reviving Resistance. But hey, who knows?

blank Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
