Warlock’s Tower

The Gameboy had some pretty cool puzzle games, such as Tetris, and it had some that have been forgotten. Warlock’s Tower feels like a game that could’ve been on the Gameboy, instead its on the Switch. Do I mean that in a good way or is Warlock’s Tower too much of a throwback? Here is my review of Warlock’s Tower for the Nintendo Switch.

Warlock’s Tower seems like a really simple action puzzle game at first. Its graphics do not push the envelope; it looks like a very nice looking Gameboy game. Then there’s its story which isn’t that great, but does have some funny dialogue. And its gameplay, which seems pretty basic…that is until you dig deeper into the game.

As you progress in Warlock’s Tower, the game gets more complex by introducing enemies to avoid, traps to bypass, keys to collect, and much bigger rooms. The game’s main goal of getting to the exit remains the same, however Warlock’s Tower just gets harder and harder. This is not an easy game. That said, it is a very addictive game. Warlock’s Tower is the type of game you wish had been on the Gameboy because you would’ve played it a lot. Thank goodness its on the Nintendo Switch.

The controls in Warlock’s Tower are easy to learn. The game mostly uses analog and button controls, though it does have touch screen integration for its menus. Pretty neat!

Overall, Warlock’s Tower is a great game. Its Gameboy graphics may be simple but they are nice. Plus it’ll end up looking more like a Gameboy Color game as you go. And while its story is nothing special, its gameplay just gets better as you go. Warlock’s Tower is so addictive.

If you need a cool action puzzle game for your Nintendo Switch, you should check out Warlock’s Tower. Be warned though: the game gets very tricky!

Warlock’s Tower gets a 8.0 out of 10.
