Titanfall DLC Already In Development

titanfall 12

Titanfall is still a few months away from launch, but that doesn’t mean that development has finished on it. There’s a beta incoming, and that’ll probably result in a bit of tweaking, and what’s the chance of a major shooter coming out without a day-one patch to follow? That’s not all the Titanfall staff are working on though. EA, via an earnings call to investors, have revealed that DLC is already being worked on by Respawn.

This is no surprise. Depending on how big the maps are and how tightly they need to be designed, it could take months of internal testing before they’re even finalised, and then there’ll be more testing and submission to Microsoft. Considering that EA says the DLC will be revealed and released in fiscal year 2015, which begins in April of this year, the DLC schedule must be rather tight.

Other interesting news out of the earnings call comes in the form of information on EA and Respawn’s relationship. EA will be getting all the money that Titanfall makes for the foreseeable future, until they hit a certain amount of money. After that, Respawn will start getting their share of the pie (which, presumably they’ve been getting for the last few years as an advance of sorts anyway).

Titanfall will be available for purchase in March this year.
