Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries Preview

“This is not a fairy tale. There’s nothing fair about it”. When the protagonist of Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries introduces us to her world, this is the key statement she makes. A warning and an explanation: she is telling the player that this is no ordinary happy-ending bedtime story. In early-access on Steam, Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries tells the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood with a dark and gritty twist that takes the old story to a whole new level.

Assassins Creed Unity Review

Throughout the years, Assassins Creed has become an over-exerted franchise, and a new iteration can be found on store shelves just in time for every holiday season. The history of Assassins Creed has reached some amazing highs (AC2 & AC4), as well as some pitiful lows (AC3 & AC: Revelations) and Assassins Creed Unity looked to change up the formula for the better yet again. Ubisoft Montreal figured that by adding an extensive multiplayer experience and a highly interactive world filled with thousands of NPCs, it would make the late 18th century playground of ...

Overture Review

Recently action-adventure rogue-like games have made a huge comeback. With notable successes recently such as The Binding of Isaac and Nuclear Throne, this game-type is seeing resurgence. The most recent in the line is Overture. Allowing the player to control a 16-bit hero and navigate them through randomly generated dungeons across the world, Overture is fun, fast-paced, and non-stop action.

Riptide GP2 Review

Wave Race 64 was one of my favorite racing games ever, and when I saw Riptide GP2 I was instantly intrigued. Despite receiving a code for review, I probably would have put down 4.99 for the full version. When I completed the game, I wasn't as excited as when I began, but for the price, it seems like an adequate game for someone looking for a weekend of fun.

JumpJet Rex Review

Every once in a while, a game developer and creator is not a man in a business suit thinking of what unnecessary spin-off or disappointing sequel game will bring in the big bucks. Sometimes it is just a group of young men who grew up on video games, play them every day, and have always dreamed of the opportunity to make them. One of Steam’s newest early access games is the birth child of just that kind of group of guys. A nostalgia bomb side-scroller than will win the heart of any gamer, JumpJet Rex, the tale of a space dino trying to save the world, needs to ...

Funk of Titans Review

January is a pretty quiet month generally for the video game community. Most people are working through their holiday backlog so games usually don't release until February at the earliest. However, indie developer Crowd of Monsters is releasing Funk of Titans this Friday for Xbox One. This ID@Xbox game takes almost everything you love from 'runner' games on mobile and puts them on a console. While the game has its issues, the game will justify the price and will be the perfect addition to mobile game loving, Xbox playing individuals.

Solar 2 Review

Solar 2 is an indie game by Jay Watts where the you control a celestial body through the massive void of space, colliding and absorbing other smaller objects in order to get bigger. Simple enough, right? The game is like Flow meets Spore meets basic physics. Your key objective is to make it through the life cycle of a planet/star while avoiding larger objects or black holes.
