Ruffy and the Riverside Review
Do you like 3D action platformers? We love the genre especially when we find a really fun one that tries to be a bit different. Is Ruffy and the Riverside a fun 3D action platformer? Hereās our review of the game for the Xbox series!
Ruffy and the Riverside a 3D action platformer with a neat story. Ruffy is the main character and he lives in Riverside. Quickly he is recruited to save his world from an ancient evil that accidently returns. To help save the world, Ruffy wonāt just jump on stuff. Heāll also copy stuff.
The gameplay in Ruffy and the Riverside feels like an older 3D action platformer like Mario 64 or Banjo Kazooie. However the twist of being able to copy patterns, putting a vine on a waterfall so that you can climb up a mountain or putting a symbol on something to activate an elevator, makes the game even more interesting than your traditional 3D platformers.
Itās a gimmick yes but itās a really good gimmick that has some interesting and surprising uses that we wonāt spoil. The controls on this game are very easy. There are some puzzles in this game that are real head scratchers though and do we wish that the game gave out hints more freely.
Ruffy and the Riverside is a fun, sometimes challenging game and a good looking one too.
The graphics on Ruffy and the Riverside look like Paper Mario 64, though of course a lot better than that. The characters seem almost paper-like while the environments are very three dimensional and colorful. This is a good-looking game, though occasional frame-rate issues do hold it back a little.
Overall, Ruffy and the Riverside is an excellent game. Itās a fun 3D action platformer with a cool twist and nice graphics. Fans of retro 3D platformers will definitely want to check this game out.
