Stranger's Wrath HD was a superb re-release of an tragically underrated Xbox game, and the fact it came to PlayStation 3, Vita and PC was very satisfying. Munch's Oddysee HD was due a similar second chance, but unfortunately one of those platforms has had to be dropped... for now, at least.

2K Marin, the developers behind Bioshock 2 and, most recently, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, have been struck with layoffs, according to sources speaking with Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Polygon. After contacting 2K, a representative told the following to Polygon:  “We can confirm staff reductions at 2K Marin. While these were difficult decisions, we regularly evaluate our development efforts and have decided to reallocate creative resources. Our goal to create world-class video game titles remains unchanged.” One ex-employee posted on Twitter…

As we reported several months ago, Batman Arkham City (and Asylum) are being converted to Steamworks. The update happened tonight (next time you log into Steam, it'll start the download), but there's a real downside that's likely to annoy people more than GFWL ever did.

For all those amongst you feeling charitable, there's a new Humble Bundle available. The Humble Bundle with Android 7 doesn't quite match the quality of some of the more recent bundles, but it sure as hell beats the comedy collection they did. Popular title Urban Chaos has been re-released on Steam. If you owned a PlayStation, PC or Dreamcast at the turn of the millennium, you'll probably at least remember its striking lead character and its dark "urban jungle" setting.

The criminally underrated Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will be getting a re-release on PlayStation 3, and will be available to purchase for the first time on PC, Namco Bandai have today confirmed. There were rumours before - it showed up on the Australian classification board - but it's now official.

Valve have trademarked Half-Life 3, a move that will no doubt excite millions of fans of the series. This has so far only happened in Europe and there's no more information about it available, so it's probably far too early to be saying "Half-Life 3 Confirmed" but, at least of the surface of it, Half-Life 3 seems at least semi-confirmed.

There was one major complain that I had about the PC re-release of Final Fantasy VII, which was rather good otherwise. That was that Square Enix had decided to include the original PC music rather than revert to the better known, better appreciated PS1 version. An update late last week now fixes this problem.
