Is a Remote Control Mandalorian Child still a Hot Item?

With the Mandalorian taking a short screen hiatus, the hype of Grogu…the Child…has died down and perhaps one would think that this character isn’t as popular as he once was. Wrong, so very wrong. Grogu is as popular as ever before, and a quick search of any toy store will tell you this. One item is rising above the rest, however – the fantastic RC The Child figure.

Rolling around on wheels, the remote controlled Star Wars character doesn’t just move where you send him. Instead, those who purchase the toy can strap a wireless dongle to their wrists, which then can control the figure. And it is better than you could ever imagine! You can have The Child follow you around just like he does in the show – simply click the follow button and start moving – Grogu will follow after you every step of the way.

Want to have a little fun? Did you know this toy has a built in hide-and-seek mode? That’s right, hit the button and run and hide, then Grogu will use the signal in your transponder to find you, wherever you might be. While not perfect, it worked multiple times for us, which my kids found really impressive.

The realism of the toy is what makes it so fabulous, and my kids have been having a blast using it around the house since it arrived about a week ago. While the toy is quite loud, the functionality is great. You can have Grogu follow, move on it’s own, use the force, and more. It also has numerous built in sounds that you can have it say, which is another nice touch.

Here are a few things you an look forward to if you purchase the toy:

  • This 12-inch The Child remote-controlled plush toy will capture the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere!
  • Inspired by the Lucasfilm series The Mandalorian streaming on Disney+, the adorable Grogu character with green skin, big ears and large eyes may look like a baby version of Yoda, but is affectionately called The Child.
  • Five Ways to Play! Choose from Follow Me, Curious, Hide & Seek and Sound Only, or use the joystick to move Grogu where you want it to go.
  • Activate its hand for “Force Action” or prompt head movement with the push of a button on the wrist band.
  • Star Wars fans will love taking on the role of the Mandalorian bounty hunter and exploring the galaxy (or their living rooms) with Grogu as a sidekick.
