More Thoughts From Me #132: Lego (DC) Villains Attack!

Traveler’s Tales always does a great job with the LEGO games. Soon there will be another game added to the franchise: Lego DC Super-Villains! This one is a bit different though! Why? Lets take a look at Lego DC Super-Villains!

Lego DC Super-Villains looks like it’ll be a little different from the usual Lego video games.

In all the Lego games so far, you started out playing as one of your favorite heroes (or characters from a movie like Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Pirates) and then ended up playing as others.

In Lego DC Super-Villains, you will create your own character, a villain with a look and power set that you put together. This will be a character that you follow throughout the entire game! I’m sure you’ll get to play as other villains too, but this character you create will be one to keep your eye on.

I really like that for the first time ever the customization feature is important in a Lego game. Usually this feature is only a side thing: create your own character for fun. And the customizer in the other Lego games never looked as good as the one thats coming for Lego DC Super-Villains!

That said, its not just creating your own character that makes Super-Villains so different from other lego games. In all the games so far, you have played as the good guys mostly. This game, however, focuses on the bad guys. And boy does DC has a lot of iconic bad guys!

And, if thats not enough, I heard that Darkseid‘s home, Apokolips, will be featured in the game!!! I am a huge New Gods fan. Whew. I can’t wait to see Apokolips!

I’m pretty excited for Lego DC Super-Villains. It just looks like a really fun game.

Are you looking forward to Lego DC Super-Villains?

Next week: I didn’t like Earthlock on the Wii U. And then I saw that there was a demo for the game on the Nintendo Switch. I was curious. So I checked it out. Next week, I’ll have my impressions of the demo. Is Earthlock better on the Nintendo Switch?

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. And now I feel like playing a Lego game!
