More Thoughts From Me #278: #DreamsCom21 Is A Must See

Dreams for the Playstation 4 has been one of the most underrated, amazing games since it first came out. Even in its beta state, it was something else. Dreams just continues to wow me! This week, in fact, there is something really special going on with the game and I want to talk about it.

Dreams for the Playstation 4 is holding…a convention!

An in-game convention!

How does it do this?

In style!

DreamsCom 21 (as its called) is a convention where players can walk around, visit booths and get a preview of upcoming games that are coming to Dreams!

First of all, you start out on a train, you quickly find yourself making a faceless avatar to walk around the convention, and then you get off the train…

And find yourself at the entrance to DreamsCom 21! You pass a bouncer who will let you through without a fight, whew, and then get to visit tons of booths. There are, I think, about 40 or so. You get access to a map by pressing the PS4’s touchpad. Then you can choose which Halls you want to visit. Media Molecule went above and beyond this year with DreamsCom21’s look. There are even NPCs standing around and tons of things to see.

The booths were created by players (just like you…um…maybe) and they are so impressive. Wow.

As you can see by the pics that I’ve included in today’s column, I streamed DreamsCom 21. I checked it out on the first day. Today is the 3rd day of the convention.

Not only is the convention in-game but there is an internet component too. Media Molecule is streaming a lot during the convention and showing off upcoming games. They have two of their own coming to Dreams: one about a train (Tren) and another is a dungeon crawler (Ancient Dangers: A Bat’s Tale). Both games look great, especially Ancient Dangers.

They’ve been showing off videos and pics of the convention on twitter. You should definitely check out their social media!

DreamsCom 21 is amazing. I need to go check it out again today. I know there are still tons of booths I haven’t visited. Also I need to check more of these game previews.

If you have a PS4 or a PS5, I highly recommend you get Dreams for the PS4. Even if you don’t want to create things, there are tons of amazing games to play and many more on the way. Dreams is incredible!

Have you visited DreamsCom 21 yet? What do you think of it?

More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. I can’t wait to check more of these games!
