Final Fantasy XVI Xbox Demo Impressions
Yesterday, Final Fantasy XVI was released on the Xbox Series X/S. We checked out the demo for the game and now have some impressions to share with you! How is Final Fantasy 16 on Xbox?
I had never played Final Fantasy XVI before. I don’t have a PS5. So when it was announced that the game was coming to Xbox, I was very happy! And a demo was even released for the game too. I checked out Final Fantasy 16’s Xbox demo and here are my impressions of it.
The demo for FF16 starts out at the beginning of the game. You get to see the start and can save and carry over what you’ve already started to the full game. Since I had never played this Final Fantasy before, the beginning of the demo was a completely new experience for me.
I was struck right away by how amazing Final Fantasy 16’s graphics are. The world and the characters are extremely detailed. This is Final Fantasy like we’ve never seen it before. I also love that the game set in a medieval setting too. Right away, the game feels like pure Final Fantasy. This especially hits home when seeing Chocobo and the summons!
The story seems pretty good so far. I don’t want to spoil anything for people who’ve never played the game before. I will say that there are big shocking moments in the demo though!
I also really like Final Fantasy 16’s combat. Its fast paced and a lot of fun. I set the difficulty to “story mode” so it wasn’t too challenging for me and I was having a blast with it. I completed the main demo and then unlocked a challenge set later in the game. And when it says “challenge” it is not kidding around. This section of the demo is much harder than the main part of the demo. Whew. I have not finished the challenge yet because it is very tough! Aside from the hard part, I did like all the cutscene and how different his part of the game felt.
Other things I liked? I really love this demo’s voice acting and music. All of the characters are voiced well and the music has completely blown me away. Final Fantasy 16’s soundtrack is amazing so far.
I didn’t play the game on PS5, so I can’t compare how it runs there and how it runs on Xbox, but I can say that my experience with the game is that it runs really well on Xbox. I didn’t see any slowdown or framerate issues.
Final Fantasy 16’s demo impressed me a lot overall. I really loved what I played and I hope I get a chance to play the whole game someday. I absolutely loved this demo!
Have you played Final Fantasy 16? What do you think of it?
