Ruffy and the Riverside – Release Date Trailer
Nintendo of America today posted a trailer for an upcoming indie called Ruffy and the Riverside. The trailer is really good. Check it out and then come back here for our thoughts on the game.
Ruffy and the Riverside looks really good. I love how the main character is paper-like but the surroundings are very three dimensional. The game looks like a cross between Paper Mario and Mario Odyssey. A platformer meeting that paper-like quality that we usually see in rpgs. I also love the environmental changing mechanic.
In the trailer we see the character turn a waterfall into a vine wall that can be climbed. We also see a Mario Odyssey-like 2D area that you can climb into and out of but you can also change it! The platforming is very Mario-like but the environment changing mechanic adds a unique quality to this game. When the trailer was over, I was like I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME.
Ruffy and the Riverside is coming out on June 26th, 2025. So not too long to wait for this game. It looks like a lot of fun.
