My take on Blind Men by Ratalaika Games

blank

Blind Men is a visual novel style game developed by Man-Eater Games and published by Ratalaika Games.  That in and of itself would be a reason to buy if you are an achievement hunter.  Before we touch on that though, let’s take a look at the actual game first.

The game itself is centered around your character, who aspires to follow in the footsteps of his uncle and become a supervillain.  To accomplish this, you set out to a conference with plans to either steal a diamond or kidnap a professor.  There are several routes to find your way through the game.

As you play through, you encounter two other men who impact the decisions you will make later.  As your plan begins to unfold, each of these men will affect what happens and also highlight your lack of experience.  The choices you make drive the story along to one of several different endings that may or may not find you being successful.

After finishing the first playthrough, you will certainly have unlocked a few achievements.  If this game is one that you have bought specifically to achievement hunt for that 1000 gamer score, you will have to restart and play through again. Along the way you’ll have to make new choices or taking different branches from previous choices made to unlock more achievements.  Depending on how well you can remember earlier choices, it will take a few more playthroughs to complete the 1000 gamer score.  Fortunately, after the first completion, you can skip the dialogue you have already been through up to new choices, which speeds up each replay significantly.

So even though Blind Men is a somewhat short playthrough, if you’re a fan of visual novels or an achievement hunter looking for a reasonably quick and easy completion, this game will scratch that itch.

Blind Men by Man-Eater Games and Ratalaika Games is available now for $4.99 at the time of this writing as a digital download on the Microsoft store.  Have fun and maybe I’ll see you out there.
