How to Pick Whats Right for You

Review websites are an important part of the entertainment industry. We have review websites for video games and movies. We have review websites for board games and for toys. If it’s something that can be purchased, there is a high probability there is a niche of related websites dedicated to looking at those products and providing feedback to would-be consumers, letting them know whether the service is worth the price of entry.

And while I tend to use review aggregate sites like Metacritic for my gaming and movie needs, I’m well aware that this service is offered to everyone, for a  wide variety of topics. Even online casinos have review websites that provide real time, often star driven, reviews of what is available on the net. New Casino is a really good example of this, a website that takes the biggest and best no deposit mobile casino bonus websites on the Internet, and gives them ratings, as well as rational for those ratings.

But how trustworthy are all of these sites, and how much stock should we put in them? At the end of the day, it is most important that you enjoy what you are buying and playing, regardless of what other, faceless people on the Internet say. Take for example Crackdown 3, which was a resounding thud in the video game marketplace, review wise. Major outlets trashed this game, with many noting that it was wasn’t much different than the original crackdown.

But here is the thing: the original Crackdown was a fantastic experience, and one of the best rated games when it was launched. So why is more of the same bad? Most would argue it is, and it isn’t. Ultimately however, despite a somewhat low score from us at GamesReviews, we still had a great time with the title, and would easily recommend it for Crackdown fans.

But that doesn’t mean we should discredit these sites either, as they can provide valuable notes, regardless of scores. Whether a company gives a game a 8.0 or a 3.0, both mentioning frame rate issues is valuable information for you to know, and should not be just dismissed because of a score. So yes, these sites are valuable, and their rankings can often help you avoid a major dud. But you need to read, explore, and make sure you are checking your own priorities off your own list. This is the only surefire way of knowing if you should purchase product or not.

So the casino website that reviews various online casinos has value. The gaming website that looks at the latest video games has value. The toy website that reviews the latest toys has value. They all have value, but it is looking at that value through a specific lens, one that is critical of what is being written, while appreciating the points being raised. Don’t just listen to what the Internet feeds you. Do your own research and find out what you want. Searching for someone to agree with your opinion, or to justify your purchase, will often end in disappointment.

At the end of the day, you know you best!
