First-person Vs Third-person Shooters

There was a time when the question of what was better, first-person or third-person shooters, wasn’t even a question. Today, it’s a muddier concept.

1v1.lolA big part of the resurgence of third-person shooters is because of genre-bending. Cinematic games work better in third-person.

There are games like 1v1.lol, that combines online building simulator and third-person action game. In 1v1, you can play online against real players, enjoy a battle royale mode and build with infinite materials.

First-person shooting games are still immensely popular though. We do have influx of FPS from smaller developers with more realistic approach. So by the looks of things the genre isn’t going to disappear any time soon.

But which one is going to be right for you?

Third-Person Shooters

There is no shortage of third-person shooters out there. Whether you’re looking for something a little bit more traditional and single player, or if you want an action-packed like 1v1.lol third-person shooting game, you will have no problem finding exactly what you’re looking for. That’s because the genre is hugely popular right now.

Gone are the days of clunky tank-controls that made every movement a challenge in and of itself. Now shooting guns at any number of targets is as easy as a point and click game. Well that would be truth just to play the game, to win you will defiantly need some practice and skill, especially in case when facing other players.

Maybe that means fighting off zombies in online hoard modes or playing building games that allows you to craft forts, but you’ll find it no problem anyway.

The biggest advantage of a third-person game is that it gives you a full view of the world around you. In a game like 1v1 you can enjoy a variety of competitive modes, look around for attackers without changing direction, meaning you don’t have to rely on danger markers on the screen. Having a proper screen size and resolution might give you bigger advantage versus TPS game as well but the game doesn’t need a powerful PC (lower system requirements).

A better view of the world changes how you consider your place in a Battle Royal. And it can potentially lower the tension, making it less about sneaking up on an opponent and more about raw skills. Boil that down to a small game mode – maybe something like 2v2 – and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

First-Person shooters

First-person shooters put you in the perspective of your character, meaning if they can’t see it, you can’t see it. If you’re moving forward, you can’t easily turn around to see what’s behind you.

For that reason, things are a little more limited, and a little more tense. If you’re using a sniper, you’ll either be looking forward or looking down a scope – no way to find out if something is sneaking up on you.

But you’re less likely to have a free build function. Instead, you’ll usually have to survive based on the landscape the developers have given you and the equipment you’ll be able to collect. Obviously that’s specifically talking about battle royale and other games may vary.

Conclusion

Both games have their pluses and negatives, but depending what you’re after, one may be better than the other.

As with all these kinds of issues, your best bet is to play a bit of both and see what suits you best. It may be you enjoy both and no doubt that will give you the best of both worlds.
