Please check out part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4 of my week long coverage of Fire Emblem Warriors. Today, I want to give you my final review of the game. What did I think of Fire Warriors? Is it a great tribute to the Fire Emblem franchise? Will fans and non-fans alike embrace the game? Lets find out!

Fire Emblem Warrior’s story is very much the same type of story we’ve seen in previous games of the regular FE series. And that is very good thing. Fire Emblem is known for its fantastic stories and Warriors is no different. Everything from the basic plot to the game’s dialogue is what it should be for a Fire Emblem game. Fans will love this game’s story. The question is though, will fans love Fire Emblem Warrior’s gameplay?

Fire Emblem Warriors has two modes: Story Mode and History Mode. There is also an optional 2-player mode for those who want to play this game with a friend. Out of these modes, the Story Mode is the best. When I talk about this game, I’m largely talking about the Story Mode. History Mode seems ok, but doesn’t really live up to its name. I couldn’t really tell if any of the events from the mode were from other Fire Emblem games or not. I did not get to try the 2-player mode. This game is a totally different experience from previous Fire Emblems and yet its also a game that somehow still feels like it belongs in the series.

The action-packed gameplay of Fire Emblem Warriors is about as far away from the strategic turn-based gameplay of regular games in this series. However, there is some strategy to be had and everything from this game’s menus to the character’s speical moves feel very Fire Emblem. Warriors is a game thats paying tribute to the series that its connected to and also has its own gameplay.

Most of Fire Emblem Warriors follows the basic save the fort and fight tons of enemies fomula that was in Hyrule Warriors. I do think that this forumla works better with the Fire Emblem charactes because of the strategy invovled and the personalities of the characters. History mode does take the game out of the fort experience a little but mostly it stick with the forts. The gameplay can feel repetitive from time to time, though not enough to stop the game from being fun.

I love the action, leveling the characters up, and finding out where the story will go next. I wouldn’t say that Fire Emblem Warriors is as fun as a regular FE game, but its a great game and I think a lot of fans of the series will like it. Fire Emblem Warriors is a blast and that has a lot to do with its controls.

Fire Emblem Warriors has great controls. This is a really easy game to pick up and play control wise. That said, this game does not take advantage of the Switch’s motion controls or touch screen gameplay. I’m not sure how the game would take advantage of either though. Perhaps the menus would be easier to navigate with the touch screen?

Fire Emblem Warriors is an excellent game though. The action may be different from the regular Fire Emblem series, but this is a game that wants to please FE fans anyway. And I think it does a great job of that with its graphics too.

Fire Emblem Warriors is one of the best looking games on the Nintendo Switch. The combination of cel-shading with realistic looking characters is fantastic. And the game’s environments  look really great too, especially in cutscenes. I do wish there was a bit more variety in the types of places you visit but, overall, this is an amazing looking game.

As for the game’s music, I think its great. Fire Emblem games always have fantastic soundtracks and Fire Emblem Warriors is no different. If you go to the Extras menu, you can listen to all the game’s music! Pretty cool. Even cooler than the music though is the wonderful voice acting. Generally, I like Fire Emblem’s voice acting and Warriors raises it to the next level. Fire Emblem Warriors also has very good sound effects. Though, the effects are probably not as memorable as the soundtrack or voice acting, but still are pretty good!

If you love Fire Emblem, you’ll probably like this game. If you are a fan of action games, then you’ll probably dig it too!

Fire Emblem Warriors is one of the best games on the Nintendo Switch. The action is intense, but it still remains very faithful to the Fire Emblem franchise. I do think that the Fire Emblem coming out for the Switch next year will top this game. However, that game is not out yet! So if you want some Fire Emblem fun (or just some intense action fun) on your Nintendo Switch, then you should definitly pick up Fire Emblem Warriors.

Thanks to Nintendo for providing a review code for this game. Fire Emblem Warriors is now available at retail and on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
