Star Wars Battlefront Beta

Like many others, the second the download went live for Battlefront I jumped on my computer, navigated to the Xbox website, and made sure to hit download so it would be ready when I got home. For some, this worked out great, for others…not so much. The first two days of the Battlefront beta for myself were frustrating to say the least, but overall, Star Wars Battlefront is a game I want to be playing when it launches this November.

Star Wars Battlefront has a history, and it’s a great one. I put so much time into past Battlefront games, and never regretted it. Despite all their problems, they always delivered an experience that was exciting and something that could be shared with friends. This is the goal of the newest Star Wars Battlefront title. However,I had many issues during my first two days with the demo. I was dropped from games frequently, and often could never even get into a game as after the loading screen I would get kicked to the main menu with the “unable to connect to EA servers” issue. A quick speed test told me it wasn’t my internet.

To be fair, those complaints were few and far between, meaning I was in the very small minority. Once I did get it loaded up, however, I lost hours of my life. Whether I was playing smaller 8 v 8 battles, or battling it out with over 50 other players using cruisers and AT-AT’s, I was always having fun. There were a number of graphical hiccups, and as a few people noticed, in some levels the aim of the enemy AI is terrible. Despite all of this, however, my level of excitement for this title is through the roof. Hopefully the full product lives up to the newly created hype!
