LEGO DC Super-Villains Review Part 2 of a two-part build

On Monday, I built part 1 of my review. Today, I’m finishing this build! Lets take a look at LEGO DC’s music/voice acting and its glitches. Also, I’ll conclude this build and slap a score on it as a finishing touch. I’ve had a lot of fun with this game. Time to find out what the build looks like!

On Rock’n’Roll

LEGO DC Super-Villains music is very good. I Fought the Law (and the Law Won) was especially an awesome music choice for this game. I also loved the inclusion of Hit Me With Your Best Shot. Its the original song with the original   singer too. I love that the LEGO games are starting to get great music to go along with the fun gameplay.

Looking for something better than the music? You should look no further than the game’s voice acting. The VA work in this game is literally Batman: The Animated Series quality because, yes, they went out and got Kevin Conory (Batman) and Mark Hamill (Joker) for this game.

Add to that Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and many other familar voices and you have the best voice acting in video games.

I wish everything in LEGO DC was as great as the voice acting.

For the Benefit of…

As much as I like LEGO DC Super-Villains, I can’t just say its “the best LEGO game ever” (it is. so far) and leave it at that.

This game isn’t perfect. There is some slowdown in the gameplay, especially near the beginning of the game, and there are…glitches…

One time LEGO DC froze on me. Another time I got kicked out of the game completely.

The worst glitch had to be the time when I was fighting a boss, kicked the boss out of the area where we were fighting, and the boss didn’t respawn. I was able to do other things in the level, like unlock secrets, but I wasn’t able to complete the level. I wasn’t sure what was wrong. I went to youtube and found out how the level was supposed to play out. So I quit the level, went back, and did the boss fight again-this time the right way.

None of these glitches, even the boss fight glitch, are game breaking. I was able to complete LEGO DC Super-Villains. I played all after-game content and I can still go back to unlock more characters.

LEGO DC Super-Villains is a fun game. Don’t let these glitches I mentioned stop you from playing the game on the Switch. Hopefully a future update will fix these glitches and any that I didn’t see. LEGO DC Super-Villains is more than worth checking out anyway.

And In the End?

LEGO DC Super-Villains is a really fun game. It has the best twist on the LEGO formula yet: playing as the villains and creating your own custom villain to join the group and it has a fantastic character creator to accomplish that task. Here’s hoping that the next LEGO game adds more twists to the franchise.

But before you start guessing what the next LEGO wil be, remember that there is a ton of DLC coming for LEGO DC Super-Villains. This DLC along with how many unlockable characters and secrets you can already find in the game will keep you playing LEGO DC for a very long time. The replay value for this game is super high!

LEGO DC Super-Villains gets an 8.5 out of 10. If you love LEGO games and DC Comics, then you must play this one.

Thank you to WB Games for providing a digital code for this review. LEGO DC Super-Villains is out now for the Nintendo Switch and its available in retail stores and on the Switch eshop.
