Late PlayStation 4 Pre-orders may Take Till Christmas to Deliver

PS4_690x377

Although those that ordered their PlayStation 4 with Amazon before August 6th are guaranteed their console at launch, the Online retailer isn’t so sure about those who pre-ordered after that date. At this point they’re saying “as soon as possible,” in the order that they were pre-ordered, although they’re only willing to guarantee that you’ll receive your order by Christmas.

This was made clear in the FAQ on the bundle upgrade page, now available to those that originally just pre-ordered the solus console.

Customers who pre-ordered from 7 August may receive their consoles after release date, but will get them before Christmas. The estimated delivery date for your order will be displayed in Your Orders as soon as it’s available.

Anybody who’s still on the fence about buying their console may want to pre-order now if they want to buy via a digital store and if they’re picking the console up as a gift. The irony here is that there’s a good chance you’ll be able to go and pick up a console from a brick and mortar store on the day of release, and almost certainly will be able to do so before Christmas.

Naturally, Amazon will want to get consoles out to customers as soon as possible, but Christmas is only a month behind the release date and it’s easy to see how you might need to wait three or four weeks to get your console.
