Tony Hawk 5 Day one Update Bigger than Game

TonyHawkProSkater5_616x346

It is becoming shocking how bad some developers are messing up AAA launches. Fortunately, a few are able to rectify the problem on day one, but sometimes that doesn’t necessarily place confidence in their brand. Tony Hawk 5 is the latest game to be plagued by a issues that require a large day one patch.

Tony Hawk 5 comes in at a low 4.6 GB when downloaded from the disc to the Xbox One or PS4 systems. When most games today are at least 20 GB, a 4.6 GB AAA priced titleĀ  definitely raised some eyebrows. It turns out, however, that the game is actually more than double that amount. A day one patch pegged at 7.7 GB brings the game over 12 GB, which is still surprising but doesn’t scare me.

This latest patch is likely a result of Activisions change to the art style, from the more realistic look that we come to expect from a Tony Hawk game, to a more cartoony, cell shaded look. That doesn’t mean the game won’t be great, however, but we strongly suggest you wait for our review before making the plunge!
